Due to differences in load weight, usage frequency, and environmental conditions, the selection criteria for tubular motors in home and industrial scenarios are completely different. Many users confuse the requirements of these two scenarios and replace industrial motors with home motors, resulting in motor overload and burnout; or install industrial motors in homes, causing excessive noise and high energy consumption. Below, SCVE will explain the selection differences between the two from the core dimensions in detail.

Core parameter differences: In terms of torque, the torque requirements for motors in home scenarios are relatively low. The torque of smart curtains is usually 1.0-5.0 N·m, while that of household roller shutters is 5.0-10.0 N·m; in industrial scenarios, the torque requirements are high. The torque of roller shutters in logistics parks needs to be 10.0-50.0 N·m, and for heavy industrial partition doors, it even needs to be above 50.0 N·m. In terms of speed, home scenarios aim for stability, with the recommended speed being ≤ 15 r/min; industrial scenarios focus on efficiency, and the speed can be selected from 15 to 30 r/min. Some fast roller shutter motors can even reach above 30 r/min.

Motor type selection: For home scenarios, DC brushless motors are preferred as they offer advantages such as low noise, low energy consumption, and long lifespan (up to 10 years or more), which meet the need for quiet operation in households. For industrial scenarios, AC motors or DC brushless high-torque motors can be chosen. AC motors have high driving power and strong overload resistance, making them suitable for high-frequency and heavy-load operations, but they generate relatively more noise. DC brushless high-torque motors, on the other hand, balance energy efficiency and high load capacity, making them suitable for industrial scenarios where noise is a concern.

Differences in protection and control: For home scenarios, a protection level of ≥IP44 is sufficient. The focus should be on intelligent control functions, such as remote control and voice linkage. For industrial scenarios, the protection level must be ≥IP65. For some harsh environments, IP66 level is required. It needs to have waterproof, dustproof, and corrosion-resistant capabilities. The control mode can be a combination of manual and automatic modes. It can also be equipped with functions such as infrared sensing and radar sensing to enhance industrial production efficiency. In terms of brand selection, for home scenarios, brands like SCVE and Duyia that focus on smart home can be prioritized; for industrial scenarios, brands like SCVE industrial series and Jieshun Technology that have experience in adapting to industrial scenarios can be chosen.
